I have been an artist my whole life and have been teaching visual arts for the past 26 years. I earned a BS in Art Education from Indiana University and Masters of Studio Art from NYU. I am certified to teach K-12 art in New York state and NYC.
I started my career teaching junior high art in Seattle and the past 21 years in NYC high schools. Currently I teach Drawing, Painting, Design & AP Art History at one of the city’s top art schools.
In addition to teaching in schools, I have been teaching neighborhood classes for the past 13 years.
I love guiding people through creative ideas, teaching skills and the satisfaction of completing a successful work of art.
My own art has been taking the form of enamel on wood, plexiglas & metal. I am interested in the dynamic relationships between the formal aspects of art and the informal world in which we live.
